Student Support Services

Chicopee Public Schools' Student Support Services department is dedicated to fostering the academic, social, and emotional well-being of all students. Through programs like Title I, the district provides targeted assistance in reading and mathematics, alongside essential social support services, to ensure student success. The department also offers resources for families, including parent programs designed to encourage active involvement in their children's education. Additionally, initiatives are in place to support students facing challenges such as homelessness or foster care, ensuring they have access to necessary resources and stability.

    Title I

Title I is a partner in providing educational excellence for students who need extra help in order to be successful in school.

Chicopee Public Schools receives over 2 million dollars in federal funds for students who need assistance in reading and mathematics and the social support services that are necessary for social and school success.

In schools with high percentages of children from low-income families, school-wide Title I programs serve all children. In Chicopee, the school-wide Title I elementary schools are Barry, Bowie, Streiber, Belcher, Bowe, Lambert-Lavoie, Litwin, Fairview, and Stefanik as well as Bellamy Middle School and Dupont Memorial Middle School.

The Title I program also offers opportunities for parents to get involved in their child’s education. Your involvement shows your child how important he or she is to you and how important an education is also. Please see the Parent Programs list for the parent programs that are available and the Parent Tips link for helpful suggestions for parents.

For more information about Title I or any of the programs offered, please speak to the principal of your child’s school or contact us at:
